We are pleased to publish the preliminary schedule for BlogHer '06 Day Two.

A few important notes:

1. Please look for a post specifically about the Room of Your Own sessions in a little while. (UPDATE: Here's the link to the Room of Your Own candidates.) In the BlogHer spirit, we are going to publish the great candidates we've had for the Room of Your Own sessions and see what excites people.

2. The Day One Call for Speakers deadline has passed, but as you can see there are plenty of sessions on Day Two that have room for additional speakers. Please submit by February 28th if interested.

3. The following sessions are currently considered fully staffed:
MommyBlogging- A Radical Act
Identity...and Obligations
Is Your Blog a Gallery or a Canvas?

Once all sessions for the entire conference are fully-staffed you can expect us to start a thread per session to start the conversations before we ever get to the Hyatt San Jose. Until then I look forward to your feedback. As always you can email me directly with feedback or speaker submissions. Or start a Forum Topic of your own if you can't wait for session-specific threads :)

Thanks for the detailed description of the process. It is informative.

It's a tall order to develop a schedule of sessions that offer engagement to all of the varieties, interests and skill levels that exist among women. I was looking for meta level conversations and questions that cut across those interests, or are faced by bloggers of all ilks. But if that's not what you're hearing from the community then I guess it's says more about my individual, and perhaps unique desires and expectations. I'm sure that the gathering will be equally engergizing for attendees drawn to these sessions as last year's lineup was.

Day Two's schedule is based on a few things:

-Last year's survey...what people liked, didn't like, missed etc. We asked questions in the survey both on sessions we offered, and about sessions we should have offered.

-All the blogging and email feedback that has been pouring out of the BlogHer community since last year. We have tagged and read every single post we could find about it. You can find my personal tags at my del.icio.us account ( http://del.icio.us/ElisaCam/bloghercon ).

-Splitting the schedule into two days, and focusing Day One on technical subjects allowed us to focus Day Two on the culture and function of blogging. We priced the conference so that people could go to individual days or both days...thus giving more people more flexibility.

-Finally: we are driven to offer new subjects with new voices. One of the most common things BlogHers cite as something they don't like about conferences they've been to is "the same people talking about the same things." You have to balance, of course, between that and the fact that people also like to see some names they've heard of on a schedule before buying their ticket, and of course you will never be done talking about many blogging subjects, but we want to talk about different issues...not only different than other conferences, but different than last year's BlogHer.

That's a lengthy answer, but I wanted to give you an idea of the kind of process that went into planning both days.

Just out of curiousity, what is the basis for the schedule on Day Two? It is a reflection of responses to last year's survey? Or something else?
