Spent some time over at Paula Gregorowicz's blog, Coaching4Lesbians.
She has several intriguing posts and lots of good information on how to design a successful life that works without the burnout and compromise.
I thoroughly enjoyed Cubicles-cause-brain-damage, but the post that I want to share this Monday is How Stressed Are You?
In this post, Paula sends her reader's over to Leah grant's blog to take a stress test
She writes:
I think this is a handy tool for keeping a pulse on one's stress level periodically because stress is such a varying thing. I find it can ebb, flow, or tsunami depending on what's going on in my life at any given time and how I am feeling about myself. The key to success that I've found is to be aware of where I fall on the scale at any given moment and then take action to bring myself back into a state of balance.
Hope you find this a fun and handy tool.
So I took the Stress Test and the good news I'm not completely wigged out-- Then again I'm not living in a Zen-like state either. So my goal for Friday is to go down a notch on the stress scale which will take me into the " you can handle it zone".
I am curious on how stressed bloghers are. If you have a chance, share your score. I was a 66.

Stressed...
Well not surprising - 55 which indicates I'm in the warning area. ;-)

... but willingly.
69. (ha!) And progress. Believe it or not.
I find that the usual activities in my life as a mother of two young kids tend to rack up the scores on stress tests. Am I in conflict situations with other people? Like living with a toddler and an almost-four year old? Do I have a desire to get away from it all? YES - but just for an hour or two. :)
When I returned to work part-time last year, I was off the chart. It is better now. I am getting better at making decisions for me. Part of my stress comes from a desire for change. To do more of what I want, so I am happier, and can bring that back to my role as a parent. It would be easier to take things as they are. But I think the stress, to a certain level, is worth it.
A good check-in. Thank you.
Stressed at times, but aware
Hi Elana,
Thanks for the reference to my post. I love the great stuff everyone is up to on Blogher. I just found out about you last week.
I must admit my score seems to waver between the 50s and low 60s depending on when I take the test.
Bottom line for me that I've learned -- is knowing where my stress level is at a given moment or a given day & then making adjustments to get me into a more sane mode. Or, at the very least practice some great stress busting techniques for a while to restore the balance......
Thanks again....

I'm a 73
The stress in my life is getting out of control.
Hopefully the steps I take over the next few months will alleviate some of the stress.
My doctor has commented on how the stress in my life prevents my back injury from healing completely.

Thanks for sharing
Thanks everyone so far for sharing your stress numbers --I see I'm in very good company. Chantel, having had a serious back problem in the past, I hope you can do whatever it takes to heal -- and when you discover the secret to reducing stress, please blog about it because the only solution I've come up with is pulling the covers over my head and somehow I don't think that's the best way to deal with it.
