Don't Be Dissin' My Diet
by Kalyn Denny

In a post that completely captures my own feelings about the South Beach Diet, Pastaqueen at Half of Me reacts when faced with an article claiming the glycemic index does not work for weight loss. She says . . .

This article mostly just reminds me of why I never bothered going on a diet before. Obesity researchers can't agree on anything! They just make us scared to put food in our mouths. I bet if you collected enough articles on dieting you could find a justifiable reason why any food you eat is going to cause you to drop dead.

Like me, Pastaqueen is a big fan of the South Beach Diet and she has a weight loss of 135 pounds to add credibility to her South Beach affection.

"Diets are like religion, and I feel like someone just took a swipe at my God. But like any religion, I know I'm not completely rational about people who don't worship the same dieting deity as I do. Even if scientists were able to definitively prove that the South Beach Diet killed baby penguins, colluded with terrorists and pushed over little old ladies in the street, I would be unable to think ill of it."
