You have the big idea, but you may not be planning or able to single-handedly develop it by yourself. You’re going to work with developers, coders, engineers, testers. If you’re not one of that techie tribe, you may feel it’s hard to communicate what you want effectively and even harder to be taken seriously by these stakeholders. But you absolutely can and must lead a development team, even if you’re not a developer. This session will talk about what establishes and maintains credibility, and about communication styles and tactics that work. Moderated by BlogHer co-founder Elisa Camahort Page, joined by Susan Mernit and Sandy Jen, on this critical relationship.

4:30pm - 6:00pm Closing General Session: What to do, what not to do, where to turn, and what success looks like

The epic finale to a jam-packed day, our closing general session will present you with a final, inspiring look at women who are out there doing it at every point of the women’s leadership pipeline. It will also highlight some of the great resources available to you. Pattie Sellers from Fortune Magazine facilitates this embarrassment of riches for ambitious women.

Janet Riccio, EVP of Omnicom and founder of their G23 subsidiary, Kim Polese former CEO of Spikesource, and Ellen Pao, Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, will share Rapid Fire Advice: When pitching your idea, what’s the one thing you MUST do…and as important: The one thing to avoid at all costs?

We’ll then present a series of organizations that are out there as resources for women who want to get to the next level. Not only will the founders of those organizations speak, but they’ll each bring with them one woman who has successfully gone through their program and used it to accelerate her own idea down its path.
