Announced so late

It's unfortunate that the winners aren't announced until July 1st. I think it would be difficult for a lot of people to make child care, work, etc. arrangements that quickly.

BlogHer Winner

Hi Miss Britt,

I work at Wiley and just want to mention that we'll be contacting the winner at the beginning of June.  We are waiting to announce the winner until July, but hopefully a month and a half will be adequate for making arrangements.

Best!

Thank you!

Oh wow, thanks.  That makes a lot more sense.  Thank you for taking the time to let me know. :-)

I love this!  I know exactly who I'm going to nominate.  Fabulous contest!

a couple of questions

1-The nominee must be a resident of the US. Does the person doing the nominating have to live in the US, too?

2- The nominator must be a member of BlogHer. Must the nominee be a member, too?

Clear as mud?

I am a Canadian BlogHer member, wishing to nominate a Hero who lives in the US but whom I don't think is a member of BlogHer. Can I do that?

Thanks!

Go for it Laurie

Hi Laurie:

It's only who the prize goes to (the trip) that must be in the U.S., you may nominate away.

Also, I don't believe either the nominator or the nominee has to be a registered member. I just went to the rules to check myself and couldn't find any clause requiring it, but you're the second person to ask about it, so it must be somewhere I'm missing?

legal language confusion

Sorry for all of the confusion on the guidelines!  Just to clarify, anyone can nominate a blog (not just BlogHer members), but only US residents can BE nominated.  For anyone else who has questions, don't hesitate to submit a nomination anyway.  If any issues come up with the nomination I will contact you directly, or you can contact me at aclarke@wiley.com.

Thanks!

that is totally bogus...

just sayin...not like I would BE anyone's hero..but there are a lot of Rockin BlogHer CANADIAN chicks!!!

hmmm

Hypothetically speaking, what if, say, the sponsoring company really screwed over your career, and you wrote all about it...on your blog?

Bug or entered?

I just nominated a blogger, went through the form, pressed submit and... it took me to the official rules page. Was that entry submitted or not? Is there a way to know?

Thanks.

All Nominations are submitted via Email - Not
to worry!

Hi Jenna! We hope you and your FireFamily are doing well :)

In response to your question: "Was that entry submitted or not?"

A: Yes, the nomination form you filled out on BlogHer.com was submitted via Email to blogherheroes@wiley.com.

If you see the Official Rules page after you submit, that means your entry was sent.

Hurry, nominations are still being collected through May 31, 2008!

Thank for Asking,
BlogHer Team

Thank you for the reply! I was worried for a second!
