Morgaine Swann over at The Goddess is having a double whammy not just blogger blues but also activist fatigue.

[via The-Goddess]:

If you've never heard of the Blogger Blues, let me explain. Sooner or later, all bloggers go through a phase where they feel as if no one is reading, that they aren't accomplishing anything, and just get bummed. I've gone through it pretty regularly in the last 6 months. True, I do this because I want to, it's my choice to spend my time this way. Sometimes, though, I take a break from reading other blogs because it makes me feel guilty that I write about things other than George W. And then there's the Outrage Overload.

I really suggest you drop by and read the whole thing, especially if you are left of feminism.

For Morgaine blues don't just come from overload but from a lack of leadership in the feminist spiritual community. Interesting because I'm hearing this more and more among progressive bloggers, men and women, in the "long tail". It just seems there's just not enough energy for us to keep on going.

Is this about expectations or is something bigger going on?

Dear Goddess and Posting Group:

Can you feel blue after only a few weeks of blogging? I'm so enjoying what I'm doing, but even my friends don't seem to be coming...I 've tried a variety of types of entries, and try to vary them, and even cross-blog.

But even my friends aren't responding online, though they are via private email...and even complimenting me! I've added Technorati, joined the Pacific Northwest Blog group, and would put a trackback if I knew how. What am I missing?? I joined Blogger because my HTML skills are poor, but maybe there's a better spot/company??

Yesterday, I even bought a BOOK about blogging to see if I was missing some critical clue...happy for any ideas or input, and I feel empathetic to your post!

I know I'm a rank newbie, but I am a quick learner....I thought the women's BlogHer would have more responsive folks, but even some nice comments of mine left at others' are also somewhat ignored...hmmm...but since the &^_(&^% snow is still falling outside my "spring" windows, might as well keep plugging for awhile....

Re the spiritual side, I subscribe to Spirituality and Health, and think it has some great articles. Recently, I found they also have an inspiring website and discussion group, too.

Cheers, ~Kathi

ps I just made one of the best decisons of my life ten months ago, and RETIRED from 30 years in public education. Now my little company is getting more work than I even want, and that's exciting! (never a Prophet in Your Own Land Dept')

So, come visit me in return, por favor! I'll RESPOND!!
