Dust off your disco balls, Ladies...because the 47-year-old mother of two has recovered from surgery for a hernia -- yes, growing old sucks! -- and has announced the dates for her disco-themed "World Is My Dance Floor" tour -- beginning in Los Angeles on May 21st -- and it's being reported that the Queen of Pop will be showing her...um...well...Gawd-only knows what she'll be wearing?

Perhaps better known to us...**cough**...women of a certain age...as the material girl gone dancer, singer, song writer, actress, film maker, producer and author, who never seems to be able stop...re-inventing herself!
Taking into account that she's only a few years younger than yours truly -- SHUDDUP! -- I don't mind telling you that I am in absolute awe of Madonna.
Dancing her way through 14 American cities and 10 European dates scheduled, when nary a day goes by when I don't feel...um...for the lack of a better word...squishy -- just call me the Queen of Pop-ping knees, 'kay! -- I can't help but wonder, "What's she taking and does it come in a stretch-fit size!?!"
Come, dance with me -- as I take you through the Madonna years:
1983 -- Madonna at 25
This is the cover of her debut self-titled album Madonna and -- strong, edgy and yet very, very sexy -- she carried was able to carry this look off right into 1987 with her first remix with You Can Dance and it is perhaps my most favorite of all Madonna looks.
1989 -- Madonna at 30
Madonna explores the darker side of man -- and goes natural with brunette hair -- in her Like A Prayer album. While I was birthing my first baby, Madonna was spawning five hit singles from this album, alone!
1994 -- Madonna at 35
Taken from Madonna's first single "Secret" off the album Bedtime Stories -- and looking perhaps a little bit scary -- it was no secret that by her mid-thirties, Madonna was into showing her erotic side!
1998 -- Madonna at 40
With her 13th album Ray of Light, Madonna enters her forties with a softer look and draws influence from Hinduism, mystical Judaism, and Kabbalah and explores motherhood, death, and re-birth.
2003 -- Madonna at 45
Coming to terms with your forties can be tough -- trust me, I know! -- and pictured here on the cover of her American Life album, Madonna is no exception, with songs such as "I'm So Stupid" and "Nobody Knows Me" and "Die Another Day" all I can say is...sing it, Sistah!!!
So, there you have it -- the many looks of Madonna -- she has explored her thoughts and feelings on everything from spirituality to politics with her music and -- speaking as a mid-life mama -- it will be interesting to watch Madonna as she continues to grow and whether or not she chooses to age, gracefully.
Judging by her own words regarding her 17th album release:
Confessions On A Dance Floor -- 2005
"It's about having a good time straight through and non-stop. I want people to jump out of their seats."
All I have to say -- at the risk of repeating myself -- is, "Sing it...Sistah!!!
