Arianna Huffington, Caroline Little, Caterina Fake, Meg Hourihan and Mena Trott among those to address BlogHer '06
SAN FRANCISCO, May 22, 2006 - BlogHer LLC (http://www.blogher.com), the Web's number-one guide to women bloggers, today announced keynote speakers for day two of BlogHer Conference '06, to be held July 28 - 29 in San Jose, CA. The keynote panels feature prominent women in online publishing, technology and public service. Now in its second year, BlogHer '06, which is nearly sold out, has doubled in size, growing into a two-day conference and targeting 750 attendees.
The second day of the conference focuses on community, conversation and the culture of blogging. The closing keynote panel, called "Creating Your Own Platform," features women who have led and inspired movements of their own. Moderated by web publisher Chris Nolan of Spot-on.com, the panel features Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor of The Huffington Post, Caroline Little, CEO and Publisher of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, Mena Trott, co-founder and President of Six Apart, and Grace Davis, mother, professional blogger and creator of the Hurricane Katrina Direct Relief blog.
In keeping with BlogHer Conference's interactive discussion format, the panel will feature an opportunity, facilitated by Ms. Nolan, for BlogHer attendees to ask these accomplished speakers direct questions.
Previously announced was day one's lunchtime keynote conversation with technology pioneers Flickr co-founder Caterina Fake and Blogger (née Pyra Labs) co-founder Meg Hourihan, called What's Next?, led by Marnie Webb, vice president of Knowledge Services for non-profit technology enabler CompuMentor. Caroline Little: Caroline Little is chief executive officer and publisher of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive. She joined WPNI as general counsel in 1997; she became senior vice president/administration and general counsel in 1999. Little was named chief operating officer in 2000 and president in early 2003.

Ms. Nolan's work has appeared in The New York Post, Wired.com, The Washington Post, The New Republic, Fortune and Business 2.0. She has spoken frequently on the impact of "stand alone journalism" - a phrase she has coined to describe the work that experienced and professional journalists are doing on the web.
Mena Trott (http://www.sixapart.com/about/corner/): Mena Trott is co-founder and president of Six Apart, the company behind the Movable Type publishing platform, TypePad weblogging service and LiveJournal, an online community organized around personal journals. Ms. Trott was named one of Fast Company's "Fast 50 for 2004" and PC Magazine's "People of the Year" for 2004.
Grace Davis (http://gracedavis.typepad.com): Grace Davis was born in 1955 to Filipino immigrants. In 2005 Ms. Davis became an accidental relief worker by creating the Hurricane Katrina Direct Relief blog. Her successful efforts to get supplies and donations into the hurricane disaster zones via the blog were recognized by the local and national media.
