imagination in the image: cool photoblogs
by Liz Henry

Mayavilla, from Guanajuato, is very active on Flickr - colorful, dramatic photos with detailed captions. Her active commenters give her Flickr account the feel of a photoblog, which I think is super fun! Recently she posted photos of cutting up a xoconostli, herself and new camera in the mirror, and different colored blank cds.

While I was looking around for Latin American fotoblogs, I came across a photo-fiction project, Proyecto reciclaje. You send a photo, with some identifying information and your memories, to Claudia Ulloa Donoso, and she reshapes it into real and imagined history. It's a collective imaginary history and a collaborative writing exercise. I'm tempted to send a photo of myself as a child, and see what it feels like to become someone else through the magic of Claudia's pen.
