Personal blog: Sour Duck
This issue, I'm using a staccato bullet-point list, appropriate for the "outraged" theme of this issue...
- "Nice Guys vs. Ms Amanda Marcotte, Exhibit 3": A post by Hugo Schwyzer has provoked a strong reaction from the feminist community, Amanda Marcotte's at Pandagon being just one of them. Click through to find out what the blogger storm is all about. Hat-tip to Kameron Hurley at Brutal Women.
- BlackFeminista asks, "Does a black woman's body make a sound?" She writes in a brief but moving post:
"I pose this question to the African-American (mostly male) community leaders, ready to march en masse down neighborhood streets, full of outrage about gun and gang violence, YET are characteristically silent about the sexual violence committed against black women by black men. WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE?"
- At team-blog Media Girl, Gballsout also wonders where the outrage is with regards to legislation passed in Louisiana:
"The House passed an anti-abortion bill in Louisiana by a margin of 85-17 that goes as far as rejecting exceptions for rape and incest. [...] What has happened to abortion rights? Have we been sleeping? With all the women who have had abortions and those who haven't but support the right, how has progressed this far? I mean, I'm really wondering here. This is insane. According to the article, 11 states have introduced similar bills. Where is the outrage?" (emphasis by editor)
