It's Never Too Late to Start Traveling

BlogHer Original Post

When I was growing up in the Chicago are, my family rarely ventured beyond Wisconsin Dells or South Haven, MI when we took family vacations. I never expected to travel to foreign countries or distant cities. Everything changed when I went to college in New York and was invited to go to Italy on a school trip. I almost declined because I was afraid to go to a place where people did not speak English. Fortunately, my parents encouraged me to go, and I had a wonderful time. I was 18 when I got my first passport, and now I jump at any chance to use it.

Reading The Write Grrl reminded me of how things could have been. EddieGrrl missed a few opportunities to travel in the past, and now she's feeling wanderlust. Her first destination is New York, across the country from her West Coast home. From there, who knows? I'm looking forward to seeing where she goes in the coming months.
