While I was looking around the Ecuadorian blogosphere I noticed a lot of people link to Lyla Boká of "Sentir con tinta". In this long post about cartoons she reminds us cartoons aren't human beings (This, in response to Fatima, who's complaining that we have no idea where Huey, Dewey, and Louie's mom and dad are). And then in "tinta de sangre" [Blood Ink] Lyla says:
Ahora son muy pocas las cosas que me gustarÃa "compartir"...
Me desilusioné del idealismo bloguÃstico.
[At this point there are very few things that I would like to "share"...
I'm disillusioned with bloguistic idealism.
The post goes on to explore multiple identities and the nature of authorship, realism, democracy, self-knowledge and narcisissm: a wild ride through Lyla's mind.
Here's a round of some more cool women blogging from Ecuador: it was impossible to miss |_Bonny_| and Nita. They link to each other and also post frequently on a group blog, Cuenta Cuentos [Tell stories] which is for lies, fantasies, reality, or whatever they want to write. I also found Mariel at Amores de emergencia, a personal blog; La diosa Palas, posting since 2001; Edipa at Sin imprenta writing on entertainment, sports, music, books, and movies; Sexy Sadie from Locura Extraordinaria.
Alegrepoisonito, a joint blog shared by Poisonous Sunflower and Alegre Depresion, seems really cool, with a great blog design - but it's no longer current. Where did they go? Did they disappear into their fictional alter egos?
Contributing Editor Liz Henry also blogs at Composite and Badgermama.
