The Not So Lazy Days of Summer
by Chantel Williams

The last time I had the luxury of the lazy days of summer was when I was a kid. I notice that more and more we as women are just plain busy. I take the required amount of time to nurture myself however its not so often that you will find me lounging; unless its Saturday before ten in the morning.

What are women bloggers doing this summer? Wait just a second, I have to stir the risotto. It says stir occasionally on the package and I really don’t think they’re telling the truth.

A rather hilarious account of her new life in Paris with nonstop houseguests.

We have had non-stop guests -- I take the blame for the bulk of visitors -- since June 13. My parents left yesterday which I am very sad about. It is July 11 today and I am in charge of my dad's friend who couldn't get a flight until tomorrow.

Stephanie is trying to make a living as an artist.

As some of you already know, I quit my day job a little over a month ago to pursue art fulltime. And again, as some of you know, I didn't really plan my transition from fulltime office slave to fulltime artrepreneur.

I admit due to a blunder in my own planning I won’t be graduating this summer which means hey I will have more free time. NOT, I am keeping up on my writing and finalizing my novel. I never don’t have anything to do. A real CollegeGrad though is talking about her finances and it looks like she won’t be bored this summer either.

Anyway, it's time to go! As soon as I produce this final research report (which I must admit I have been such a slacker on these days) I will be in Tokyo move mode! Work begins soon and I have to find a place to stay!

Mama T. is going on vacation but let’s face it she isn’t getting any rest.

And why has packing and planning this trip made my stress level jump out of my skin? Because I have to think of everything. What to pack, make sure it gets packed, what to do, where to go, when to go, how to save money, how to keep Sofia napping so we don't end up with a crank the whole trip and anything else in between. Hubby says, don't worry. I'm worried.

And continuing to stay grateful in the face of insanely busy.

And also I enjoy writing these posts to muck and clog up Google searches for the poor lost souls trying to find enlightenment, write an appellate brief, paint their pantries or learn about wheat and gluten allergies. You know, it's the little pleasures in life for which we must be grateful.

Other than attending BlogHer, what are you doing this summer?

Had to say--love the remarks

Had to say--love the remarks on how stressful trip planning will be. I'm so there, which is why for the camping trip husband and I are taking this weekend, I told him in no uncertain terms, "You are in charge of packing everything." I've told him this several times. It's quite a change from our usual routine. I'm bringing my own clothes, sunscreen, and bug spray. Everything else is on him. I realize this means we might not have a lot, but I don't care. We're only gone a Fri-Sunday. And you know what? I am so relaxed about this trip. :)
