Framed Cooks

I am a mother, a wife, a redhead, a bookworm, an avid cook and a compulsive photographer.  My website, Framed Cooks, site actually started out as a photography project. The project was to shoot still life — something different every day for 2 weeks. I hate photographing still life. I like photographing dogs and babies and teenagers and other things that won’t sit still. I had no idea what on earth I would be able to think of to photograph still-life-wise that could be different every day. And then it dawned on me. Dinner.  My plans was to take pictures of our suppers for 14 days, and I thought it might be fun to blog about it at the same time.  That was almost four years ago, and I'm still cooking, still taking pictures, and still writing about our suppers!

The one where there it is so thick that your spoon practically stands up by itself in the bowl and the broccoli is so cooked that it is one with the soup? This is not that soup ....more

Avocado Hummus

---- If this post is not displaying properly, view it in your browser here: Avocado Hummus --- I don't know about your house, but mine is a whirlwind of red and green this time of year, with some gold and silver sprinkled on top. Nope, there are some nights when I whirl up avocado hummus in the food processor and serve it up with some tortilla chips and a swirl of Sriracha sauce on top ....more

Burrata Prosciutto Oregano Pizza

---- If this post is not displaying properly, view it in your browser here: Burrata Prosciutto Oregano Pizza --- One of the things I try really, really hard to do is to Leave No Ingredient Behind. You know what I mean...you buy a container of something that you need for a recipe, you use whatever you need from it, and the rest of it looks at you reproachfully every time you open the fridge. I have this issue constantly with leeks, which hang out in groups of three when I really only need one ....more
