Be Web Smart

I publish Be Web Smart, a site for parents who want to keep their families safe online.   I've worked as a webmaster (although I've always preferred the title Web Goddess) since 1998.  Over the years I've developed the ability to absorb technical information and translate it for those who are not technically minded.

Before creating Be Web Smart, I started a personal blog in 2011. I found myself writing most about technology-related topics. Around the same time, with my then 10-year-old daughter using the computer more often, I found myself in need of parental control solutions. I researched and shared my findings on my blog, and with my friends.  I realized that other parents I knew were in search of simply written, action-oriented, and practical advice on the topics I wrote about. So I started Be Web Smart with that same focus in mind.  I’m here to remind you that “you don’t have to be tech savvy to Be Web Smart!”
