The Last Push!
The excitement for me is overwhelming. I am so excited to meet so many of you that I can hardly contain myself. I’m sure that when I attend the Birds of a Feather session that I will be wrought with indecision and may have to stand in the middle of the room and declare my love for each and every one of you.
Funnier yet, I am pretty sure I will be one of the few without a laptop. I’m thankful for this because I just want to experience the experience, fill myself to the gills with your energy and write about it later. But that’s what I find about a lot of bloggers are all about. We experience, we digest, we think it through and then we write you a story. More importantly I don’t want to feel the overwhelming urge to report on my daily events after ten or more cocktails and drunkenly blog from my hotel room. We all know that rarely turns out well.
I don’t own a laptop so you may find me wandering the Hyatt with the archaic pen and paper dutifully taking notes at all the technology sessions. If you hear the unfamiliar click of a bic pen don’t worry; it’s just me. I’m the biggest techno-illiterate of them all; I don’t want to spend my time tapping the shoulder of the person next to me and whispering, “can you help me turn this thing on?
The only thing I ask of you is to stop me if you see me with postage stamps stuck to my fingertips trying to snail mail an envelope home with notes jotted down on scraps of paper.
I’m going to experience you, possibly hug you and maybe get drunk friendly with you at the cocktail party. No worries though, I’m completely harmless.
See you soon!

It sounds like fun.
I think that I may have one of my goals for next year to try to save up enough money, and possibly gain the courage to attend Blogher '07. I don't know if I possibly could do that. To be around that many bloggers would be mind boggling for me and don't know if I could handle something like that. Let alone having to deal with getting on a plane and then recovering from that ordeal and then try to handle a HUGE crowd. Just sitting here thinking about it already has my nerves going, but this is something that I need to work on and I'm sure after it was done I would cherish the memories.
Have fun and give us who aren't going lots of details when you get back.

I'm getting jealous
What are these "pen and paper" devices you talk about? Are they capable of wireless? Bluetooth? ;-)
BlogHer sounds like so much fun and it seems like an incredible group of women are attending. I kind of wish that I was attending now! Even if I'm not "recognized" in the blogging community like many attendees, it would be a blast to just hear their stories and interact with people. Maybe next year...
I'll raise you an old and busted Toshiba!
I have an old and busted Toshiba laptop from my office, which I may just leave in my hotel room because it's so cumbersome. ( Plus, the tab key doesn't work, and now neither does Internet Explorer.) I maybe right there with ya on the pen and paper idea.
Mutual admiration society
I'm quite sure there will be many of us there adoring you, as well! :)
