Some of you may have heard the rumors. Some of you may have even found the official press release we put out on the wire when the BlogHer '06 Conference kicked off on Friday.
But I hope there are still a few BlogHers out there for whom this is actually news:
BlogHer is moving East in 2007, and we have (thus far) two events to announce:
The first BlogHer Business will take place in New York City on March 22nd and 23rd, focusing on blogging for businesses.
And the third annual BlogHer Conference, BlogHer '07, will take place in Chicago, IL on July 27th and 28th, featuring the same broad diversity of topics and activities that BlogHer '05 and BlogHer '06 did.
Mark your calendars!
And keep your eyes open for an attendee survey. We want to know what you thought of the session topics, the session lengths, the session format, the sponsors, the cocktail parties...you name it.
It's our own version of a Continuous Improvement Program, and you're the ones who provide the data, so watch your Inbox.

I Agree!
I've already marked the dates in my 2007 calendar...both of them! I agree with Karen that it is fantastic to hear about the conference geered towards business!
I cannot wait!
My calendar is marked!
Yes!
When I first heard the buzz that it was moving East, I crossed my fingers and hoped "Chicago, Chicago, Chicago!" YES, I'll be able to take the L to BlogHer '07, instead of a plane! My calendar is officially marked. Any other locals out there want to organize some kind of 'hospitality' group?
Hospitality helper
Hi - I wanted to get involved, so if you do want to organize a "hospitality" group or something along those lines, count me in, a happy local!
Thanks byakko
If you want to give me your contact info, email me, and I'll add you to the volunteer list for Chicago :)
Thanks again!

This is definitely good
This is definitely good news. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to attend this conference. I don't have to worry about trying to get on a plane with my anxiety. That's out of the way. Now I have a full year to manage to work up the nerve to actually go beyond my normal boundaries and try to handle being in a LARGE group of people. It also gives me a year to try to save up vacation time and money. Okay going to bed now just typing this comment with no errors was extremely difficult.

Next year then, Blogher will be close to the headquarters of many fo the national associations - and perhaps inspire some of the staff to attend.
One highlight for me of this conference was overhearing hotel staff talk in awe about the energy and warm of the attendees.

This is great news! When most blogging cons are still predominantly West Coast, the idea of moving them out to other regions was one just waiting to happen. And what better place for the business conference than New York? Well, maybe Boston ;-)

Road trip to Chicago?
Are you going to drive from NJ to Chicago, Liz?
I'd be interested in that road trip! I am definitely, absolutely, without-a-doubt going to make it to BlogHer07 in Chicago (one of my fave cities in the US!). I'll be flying in to NYC from Dubai, and a road trip sounds a lot more fun than just jumping on a place from NYC to Chicago!

I'm happy you're happy :)
Well, most of you.
I agree that Serbia is a long way to come, so hopefully some day we'll be announcing BlogHer Internationale.
And Jenna, what kind of camp is this that only exists on BlogHer weekend? You should talk to them about their poor scheduling!!!

LOL
Only the oldest (189 years next year) Holiness campmeeting in the country, yo! I think they beat you out on existence for years. YOU change your dates. ;)
I think someone should take a picture of me with them and photograph themselves with it during the entire event. Yes. Do that.

Hey, Jenna
Since the camp has been around that long... can't you send the spouse and kids to camp, and skip it just this once???

Well, Hmm
I'll keep it in mind. Basically it will come down to flight costs and if my family would be willing to drive me to the Pittsburgh airport on Friday. And technically, if I took an early Sunday flight out... I could be back in time for evening goodbyes.
But, we'll see how Josh feels about that whole idea. ;) LOL. I'll definitely keep it in mind. *taps foot* Because now I REALLY want to do that.

I am so freakin' excited for BlogHer '07. I live 4 hours from Chicago so this is convenient for me. I've already requested vacation time, a year in advance! Thanks BlogHer for rotating the conference location!

I checked and it is 218 miles to Chicago from my house. So I can drive instead of spending two whole days on airplanes. Woo -HOO!!!
PERFECT!
And the reason I couldn't go this year was because I was IN CHICAGO...I'm just ahead of my time. But my calendar is marked for 2007! I'm really enjoying reading about everyone's trip, it sounds amazing!
