I'm a huge fan of lentils in any recipe, but it was the creative title of "Not-Pockets" that first drew my attention to these Mushroom and Lentil Turnovers from Thursday Night Smackdown. Yes, she is aware of the resemblance to a certain convenience product that some kids love, but this is definitely a grown-up version! Michelle stuffs purchased puff pastry with a mixture of lentils, mushrooms, carrots, and leeks that's been simmered with a tasty sauce; then she bakes them until the pastry is beautifully browned. How good were they? As soon as he ate one, her partner Brian immediately asked for another.
