NYC Fashion Week: Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2013 Runway with Brizo

Yesterday and the day before I posted on the Brizo experience during the Brizo Fashion Week Event.  You can check them out Here & Here.  A part of the Brizo experience included the Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Show and After Party.  A fun way to end the trip, don't you think?

Today I thought I'd share with you Jason Wu's Spring/Summer 2013 collection.  His inspiration for this collection, like his Brizo collection, also came from Versailles and the great photographer Lillian Bassman.  You can see the influence of Versailles, on the runway floors and the oversized mirrors at the beginning of the runway, and Lillian Bassman's photographs from the 40's & 50's in his clothing design.

Form and function, a Jason Wu philosophy that is evident in each individual piece he creates.  Jason brought this philosophy and style in his line with Brizo.

The theme of the show: Leather & Lace.  What great juxtaposition of two different fabrics: in the way the fabric feels, the movement of the fabric, and the way the fabric falls---a combination of masculinity and femininity.  The two combined are a representation of a powerful feminine woman.

Here are a couple of shots from my camera...of course it doesn't do the professional photographers' photos justice.

And then there were a couple of famous sitings that I couldn't pass up on a photo op to share with you!!

Tyson, he is beautiful!

Emily Mortimer

Last but certainly not least, the best siting of all....Anna Wintour!!  And don't worry her pouty face was ever present.

Thank you so much to the Brizo team who put this spectacular event together, Sarah Sinitean, Jai Massela, Christiana, Brian Noble, Richard O'Reagen, Laura Brooks, Mandy Ellington, Kristen Baum, Judd Lord, Seth Fritz, and Celine Kwok (who was not able to attend).  This was an once in a lifetime, amazing experience that I will never forget.

Tomorrow I'll post on the Jason Wu After Party.
