Odette's 1st Birthday Garden Party
Hope you all had a great weekend! We had so much fun celebrating Odette's first birthday and had a little party for her! I decided on a floral theme with peach, pink and mint and everything turned out so cute! We only had about ten people come, which I think was perfect! Hope you enjoy these pictures :)
We set up a little backdrop for everyone to take pictures with the birthday girl! For our wedding we used a Polaroid camera and the pictures turned out great, so we decided to use it again. Birthday girl was passed around so much she needed her doll in almost every picture to keep her distracted from the fact that she wasn't with mom or dad lol.
I also drew Odette's name on our fireplace chalkboard and set up her high chair next to it with a floral one sign.
This was my baby for the party! I've been pinning forever and driving my husband crazy because I spent so much time on it lol. I purchased the floral banners from Anthropologie and made a DIY floral number 1 for really cheap.
On the dessert table I tied some pink paper straws around IZZE clementine and sparkling blackberry waters. We also picked up some peach jelly beans and mint M&Ms from a candy store, as well as a tuxedo cake from Costco (SO GOOD!).
I baked Odette's cake with a gluten free, dairy free, nut free, egg free mix and it was so delicious! I may have nibbled on the edges while baking! The frosting was just a box mix with a drop of peach food coloring that I picked up at Hobby Lobby and the floral bunting was another DIY. To make it I just took two cake pop sticks and tied some string around them, cut up some triangles from a left over invitation, and wala! An adorable little floral banner bunting!
Watching her eat her cake was by far the best part of the whole day! When everyone sang Happy Birthday to her she was so confused but loved having all the attention! She was a little unsure what to do at first, just tasting the frosting...
But after a few seconds she went for it! Face first in the cake!
Clearly she thoroughly enjoyed herself! I probably let her eat way too much but this was her first sweets, so I let her have at least half if not more :)
After all that cake, she opened lots and lots of presents with daddy! It was such a fun and special day to spend with family and most importantly Odette had a blast :) I already can't wait for next year! I see a Frozen party on the horizon with a make your own Olaf station!
