What kind of women's shoes should you wear to the office? Certainly not strappy, sexy sandals - just like clingy clothes, those would send out the wrong message. But must you wear something conservative and boring?
In some work environments, the problem is not "conservative and boring" - the problem is that women are expected to wear high heels to work. While high heels are considered "power shoes" for women, wearing them every day for eight hours or so can be very damaging to women's health.
I think it's possible to look polished and professional without sacrificing your health and without resorting to boring shoes. I think I've already mentioned Clarks Shoes on this blog. It's one of my favorite comfort shoes brands, because they manage to make women's shoes that look great and are also very comfortable.

My own personal rule when it comes to women's shoes is that it's not ideal, but it's OK to wear crazy heels occasionally when going out at night - especially when I know I would sit down most of the time. As far as I'm concerned, office shoes need to look polished, but they must be comfortable too.
