Old Friend Noodles -- I Miss You!
By rainblog on March 01, 2011
I am now working in the company, NearbyExpress, which is a professional wholesaler and dropship supplier of China electronics. I am now working in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. You may be familar with Shenzhen. However, you may not hear about Nanning. Nanning is the capital of Guangxi Province in China. And it is the place where I spent my four year college life! 4 years! I had tasted a lot local food of Nanning. Old Friend Noodles (Lao You Noodles) is my favorite!
There is a very interesting story behind this snack.
It is said that there was an old customer who visited a tea house everyday, but he didn’t appear one day since he was suffering with a cold. Having known that, the boss sent him a bowl of hot noodles cooked with chopped garlic, lobster sauce, sour bamboo shoots and chopped beef. The customer got much better after eating it, thus it was named as old friend noodles.
Actually, the noodles can help to prevent wet and stimulate the appetite, so it is a long lasting food warmly welcomed by customers.
My college friends and I always ordered Old Friend Noodles during university life. But, I do not see any place here in Shenzhen selling it. I miss the flavor.
Old Friend Noodles, I miss you!
