When I hear a good story I just have to let everyone know. I am all about giving back and celebrities using not only their good names, but donating their time to help out people and families that are less fortunate than themselves. With the current economic times beating down on the middle and lower classes, seeing kids and families smile because of one mans work is truly inspiring.
America's Dentist with the best smile, Dr. Bill Dorfman is finally being recognized for his incredible work with family & children’s charities by Friends of the Family on April 30th, 2010 at 6:30pm at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Dr. Bill will be presented with the 2010 Founders Award (by Paula Heart, Melissa Joan Heart’s mother) at the 14th annual "Families Matter Benefit and Celebration" for his long standing involvement with a various children’s charities.
Dr. Bill’s philanthropic involvement includes working alongside Garth Brookes and the Crown Council for years to help raise more than $27 million for Smiles for Life (www.smilesforlife.org) – a non-profit organization dedicated to helping seriously ill and disadvantaged children across the country and around the world. Additionally, he co-founded The LEAP Foundation (www.leapfoundation.com) – a program that helps high school and college students gain valuable life skills through mentorships and seminars (for which Dr. Bill recently shaved his head on “The Doctors” after raising more than $120,000 for the Foundation). A father of three himself, Dr. Bill has always been passionate about helping children in need and has donated 100% of the proceeds from his New York Times Bestselling book, Billion Dollar Smile, directly to children’s charities.
