Online Videos: Cute Kids On Parade

Unlike beauty, cute kids are rarely only in the eye of the beholder.  All kids, and I do mean all, are cute in some way, shape or form.  The chubby little cheeks, the soulful eyes, the trusting smiles, all are the elements of a cute kid.

It used to be when those moments were captured on video, they were, for good or ill, screened only for family and friends.  Now, with the advent of YouTube and other online video sites like Veoh and Yahoo! Video all those videos, for good or ill, can be shared with the rest of us.

I've spent the last few months scouring the online globe for the best, the brightest, the funniest, the cutest kids on the internet.  And you know what I discovered?  There's too many to count.  So here's a small sampling of what's online and I dare you not to smile after watching them.

Let's start off with this talented little guy over at YouTube. His name is Hero and he's a big Beatles fan as you'll see. Thanks to Contributing Editor SJ Alexander for sending me his link.

Or how about a recitation of the plot of "Star Wars," courtesy of this lovely three year old.

It's gotten over four million hits.  Because of that, Fist who posted it, has disabled the comments section and has this response for all the agents who want to use his little one in a multitude of commercial ventures:

Thanks for your interest. At the current time we have no intention of exposing our little one to the destroyer of youth that is the entertainment industry.

Personally, I understand Fist's sentiment.

The cuteness factor of cute kids goes through the stratosphere whenever dancing is involved.  That's where adorable little Faith comes in. Though it takes her a minute to get going, when she does, her hips don't lie:

Courtesy of Veoh is one of my personal favorites. Posted just a couple of days ago, it plainly illustrates how kids often want to have it both ways:

Other videos worth sampling: a three year old hoofer's take on Michael Jackson's "Thriller."  Over at Yahoo Video, sing along as this sweet little one expressively lip syncs. For a little sports action, check out Joshua's Skate Video. Then there's this one from an insurance commercial: a little boy explicitly describes a scene from a movie. In that same "kid's say the darndest things" vein is three year old Kassie warning monster's not to come to her house. And because it's gotten over forty-five thousand hits, here's a little nepotistic shout out to one of BlogHer's Contributing Editors Erin Vest. If that doesn't make you go "Awwww," nothing will.

Feel free to submit your favorite online cute kid videos, even if they're your own.

Hi Vered,

It's a good thing your friend is smart enough and honest enough to know that she doesn't want to have kids of her own. Too many women I think have kids because they think they should.

Glad you enjoyed the videos.

These are so cute. I do have some cute videos of my own kids that I hesitate to share online. But I will share this: I have a friend who is completely unimpressed with kids. She likes to say, "kids are just pre-adults". She doesn’t seem to notice their “cuteness”. She only notices the mess and the noise. She is smart and funny and I love spending time with her, but I never bring my kids along. Somehow we managed to remain friends through the past 8 years, since my oldest was born.

Needless to say, she has no plans of having any kids of her own.
