OpenHatch: Making code communities more welcoming

Added December 29, 2011 - 9:50am by | in

OpenHatch is an open source project with the goals of lowering the barriers to entry into open source contribution and increasing diversity. This blog covers news updates from our community.

We achieve these goals through a number of initiatives:

  • Our friendly IRC community

  • The Boston Python Workshop for women and their friends

  • Open source outreach events like the Open Source Comes to Campus workshops

  • A project rolodex that helps people find projects to join

  • Interactive teaching tools for learning open source skills (called Training Missions)
