Oprah Is Why The French Hate Us
by blindedbyblonde

Oprah has been on television for more than 20 years, and within that
time, she has failed educate her fans on anything more than superficial
fads in diet, culture, and politics.

As of today, Oprah has not
once interviewed or educated her fat and frivolous fan with an
educational retrospect on ballet, opera ( nd Potts the tenor doesn't
count) painters, poets, or sculptor...no artist what so ever. Musicians
were not featured unless they already grabbed an Emmy or were about to.
And if you thought I forgot about Maya Angelou, you are wrong!!

Maya
was interviewed on her birthday and was asked to discuss growing old.
Never once did Oprah interview Maya for her monumental literary works
of art. To this day, I think the prettiest phrase ever spoken was the
title from Maya Angelou book, "I Know Why A Caged Bird Sings."

"I Know Why A Caged Bird Sings."

"I Know Why A Caged Bird Sings."

I
will never hear anything so lovely again, I am sure. And if you read
the book, you would know Maya is the bird, and where she grabs her
courage to speak and write so prolific, is still a mystery to me. And
for Oprah not to celebrate or educate people on her writing is a
travesty.

Oprah, Dr. Phil, Fox news, CNN, and every other
sensationalized media rhedoric is placating to the idiocy of
culturally unsophisticated, worldy ignorant, and sublimely dillusioned
masses of middle born Americans, who only believes in their storybook
version of religion.

Oprah isn't a feminist, she is an
opportunist.  She, and her production company find it way too easy
making money by putting on a dog and poney show to keep an audience.
Oprah, her prodcution company, and network know they would lose the
audience if they tried to teach things that are over their head. Art,
classic literature, ballet, opera...all over the middle classes head.

And I agree with the french and most of Europe when they  ask to be spared the  nightmare of a middle class tourist.

Gosh How Brave

I never thought I would see somebody criticise the great Oprah. Well done I quite agree, even the books she choses are somewhat light weight. But I guess that is why she has mass appeal, style over substance.
