Opting for Optimism
I often times describe myself as an unyielding optimist. For 2013, I am not only choosing to be fiscal responsible, I am revving up my optimist characteristics after years of deployment. I am hopeful!
If you are a pessimist, perhaps you might want to opt out of this blog. If you are a pessimist shifting to optimism, read on. Optimism, according to Dictionary.com means:
1. A disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome.
2. The belief that good ultimately predominates over evil in the world.
3. The belief that goodness pervades reality.
4. The doctrine that the existing world is the best of all possible worlds.
Its synonyms are: 1. Confidence, hopefulness, cheerfulness.
I am optimistic about my fiscal fidelity. I am optimistic about our country's economic woes. I am optimistic the National Rifle Association (NRA) will take their blinders off and listen to the American people. I am optimistic that those in my work environment will play by the rules instead of making up rules as they go. I will remain optimistic even when situations like this occur. I am trying to be optimistic about the corporate culture .
In his reelection speech, the President of the United States said:
“…while the road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up, we have fought our way back, and we know in or hearts that for the United States of America the best is yet to come. “
I am optimistic about all that is yet to come to me and those within my circle. I am certainly optimistic about America the beautiful and all she needs to accomplish. Because…she remains the land of the free and the home of the brave.
The road has been hard. My journey was quite a long one. But…this is a new year! I have picked myself up, dusted myself off and as Alicia Keys sing:
It took a long long time to get here. It took a brave, brave girl to try
If I speak up when you're wrong
If I walk a little taller...
And it ain't bad, I found a brand new kind of free.
Don't be mad, it's a brand new time for me, yeah!
