'Orange Is the New Black' Teases Us With a Trailer and More

The next season of Orange Is the New Black won't drop until June 6th, but Netflix cares about me (and you) and our OITNB obsession, so they released a new trailer and promotional video to help us make it to the finish line.
It's sort of ridiculous how much I'm looking forward to the new season of OINTB. Like others, I've studied every bit of promotional material available, not only for clues about the next season, but also just because I miss the OITNB characters. I have the drop date for Season 2 on my calendar in ALL CAPS orange font, even though when I see it it sometimes make me feel a bit ridiculous.
But then I see something like the new trailer and all of the ridiculous feelings fade away. In their place, I find I have to hit "replay" several times to make sure I see everything in the video. Red zipping up her zipper as she sees Vee at the end of the corridor! Taystee being Taystee! A discussion of power and powerlessness even in a 1:58 trailer! ALEX'S GLASSES!
Even better, next up from Netflix is a "Three Words" promotional video. The content is fun and provocative, but seeing the actors is what really gets me excited and helps me feel less ridiculous about my obsession. The ensemble of women running this show is outstanding: Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Kate Mugrew, Danielle Brooks, Uzo Aduba, Natasha Lyonne, Taryn Manning, Laverne Cox, Samira Wiley, Yael Stone, Alysia Reiner and now Lorraine Toussaint! And many more. Where else do you see a cast as badass as this telling these women's stories with an awareness of class, race, sexuality, gender, cycles of poverty, and all sorts of privilege? No wonder I can't wait.
Keep it coming, Netflix. I am in your cafeteria line, hungry for more. You've got the power, and it this point all I have is a release date on my calendar.
