Last year I cleaned out my bedroom closet. It was a disaster. I’ve mostly been able to keep up the organization. I do need to reorganize a few baskets and containers that are waiting to be organized but here are my before and after photos. The new pieces that I installed are working well even a year later. I’d like to purchase one more set of shoe cubbies/drawers because the current ones are working so well! Part of my little upkeep mission is to purge some clothing that is ready to go!
When I did this I was able to complete an item on my list of 101 Things in 1001 Days project and now I can show it off to you for this month's mission/challenge.To clean this closet I had to purge as many clothes as possible. Then I removed clothing that was out of season or didn't fit. I tried to be realistic about the size of the clothing and then I created labeled boxes for out of season or out of size movies.Next I catagorized the clothing by type. I evaluated how I needed to organize the remaining clothing. I shopped and purchased shelving and other hook type items to be installed. My closet still isn't perfect but it's much more functional for my lifestyle.Here are the before and after photos:
