Since 2005, BlogHer's mission has been "to create opportunities for women who blog to gain exposure, education, community and economic empowerment."

We want to facilitate and curate a community that empowers our members and creates value for all. This mission is the driving force behind a community that now reaches more than 20 million* people each month via BlogHer conferences and events, the BlogHer.Com news service and the BlogHer Publishing Network of more than 2,500 blogs.

What You Read Is What We Think

Our readers trust our bloggers. BlogHer’s community guidelines specifically prohibit combining editorial and advertorial writing. The writing you find on BlogHer.com and our 2,500 BlogHer Ad Network blogs is pure, unadulterated editorial – unless it’s clearly marked otherwise and presented on pages without ads.

This kind of best-practice transparency creates a comfort zone for review bloggers who want a clean, well-lighted way to be paid for their work while also taking excellent care of their readers, some of whom may be turned off by finding advertorial in an RSS feed they expected to be editorial.

We Are Real People

Each year, BlogHer brings its community together in real life. Our flagship conference sold out 1,400 seats four months early in 2009, and we expect the sixth annual conference – BlogHer ‘10 – to be even bigger. BlogHer Business is in its fourth year and sold-out BlogHer Food brought 300 food bloggers together at its inaugural 2009 conference. If you can’t make our big conferences, look for BlogHer meet-ups coming to a city near you.
