Ovation Cell Therapy Review
By mrsmasch1 on August 17, 2012
Hi! I’m Alison. I started using Ovation Cell Therapy on 7-16-12 and I love the product so far! I was going to do a video blog, or “vlog” as some may say, but I don’t have the patience to edit, so here I am blogging!
Let me start off by saying that there is no substitute for healthy diet and exercise. Healthy hair comes from the inside out! Eating right and drinking plenty of water and staying away from sugary drinks and snacks will do wonders for your skin and hair. I myself do not drink soda or sugary drinks, I only drink water, and I really feel that along with the Ovation therapy, it is doing miracles for my hair.
So far, I am happy with the product. I have been using it for a month now. It is soft, shiny, manageable, smooth, and not frizzy. There are a lot less fly-aways. My hair looks and feels amazing. The only issue I have so far is that it isn't growing fast enough LOL and it hasn't been completely tamed from the crazy waviness it has, so I am forced to blow dry every day if I want it to be calm.
I made the mistake of letting a stylist layer my hair. She did a bad job; told me I was getting long layers and started the first layer above my shoulders. I don't have the right hair for layers like that and it does that thing where the left side flips under and the right flips up and it is a nightmare to get it to calm down. I am wanting to grow my hair out anyways, but I especially can't wait till this top layer grows past my shoulders. The haircut was 6 months ago and with my hair growing 1/8" per month, it is taking way too long. Isn't that awful? Not even 1'' of growth in 6 months which means it doesn't even grow 2" per year.
As thin as my hair is, you would think that it would take me 5 minutes to blow dry it. But, as damaged as it was, it would take me 20-30 minutes and then it would frizz out and look just as bad as it would if I had let it dry naturally. Using a flat iron did not help at all. I could literally hear my hair cracking and frying! As you can also see, it has this crazy wavy, curly thing going on. That is not natural. My hair is naturally stick straight. This is the result of 19 years of dying, blow drying, and using harsh shampoos. I never knew until recently that most shampoos have sulfates, sodium, and paraben which are awful on your hair! Well, I knew the ingredients were there, I just didn’t know how damaging they were until I started using Keratin treatments. Even the Matrix shampoo that I was paying $25 per bottle for was ruining my hair! After one day of using Ovation and the Thermal Protection spray, it literally took me 4 minutes to blow dry my hair. I couldn't believe it. I actually like to blow dry my hair now.
The Thermal Protection spray is incredible! It comes out in this mist that really covers your hair. It smells great, doesn’t feel slimy or waxy or oily. It tames every single fly away. My hair feels heavy and full, but in a very natural, healthy way. Not because it is weighed down by harsh chemicals, waxes, or oils you would find in those other brands. I love the way it feels against my back and I can't stop touching it. My husband calls me pretty hair :-)
Here is how awesome it usually looks in the morning right out of bed. I haven’t even brushed it yet. Before Ovation, I would wake up to this horrible mess of hair that was back to wavy and dry and I would have no choice but to at least wet it and start over or just rewash it. It is very frustrating! It was so bad. You could just see the damage and it was humiliating. I never wanted to go anywhere nice because I didn’t know what to do with my rats nest of hair!
I have to be honest, though, so far, if I let it dry naturally, it hasn't quite calmed down the waviness. I have resolved to blow drying every day. I also live in South Florida and the humidity down here just wreaks havoc!
This is a picture of August 2, 2012 which is day 17. I hadn't washed it yet. I just left it from when I blow dried it the day before. Some of the waviness is trying to sneak out, but it is still very calm and soft and I felt comfortable leaving the house without washing, wetting, or running the iron through it. What a relief because I woke up late and didn't have the time to fight with it!
The only disadvantage I have found so far is that you have to order it from California and I live in Florida, so it took 6 days to get to me and they don’t offer expedited shipping. So that is a huge bummer for someone like me who has no patience. And of course I would like for it to work faster LOL
I read from a fellow blogess that you shouldn't leave Step 2 in for more than 2 hours. On the bottle it says you can leave it overnight and I have done that. The blogess said that for some people it hardens their hair and causes a lot of hair loss the next day. I didn't have a problem with that. I either put it in a shower cap or put it in a french braid. The next day I rinse it and do Step 3. It makes my hair so happy!
I have heard that for most people the supply lasts 3 months, but since I have very fine hair, hopefully it will last longer. I have heard of people having it last 6 months. I think it will because after 1 month I haven't used 1/3 of the bottle. I paid $107.00 total for the 3 steps plus the heat spray and shipping. Very economical if you think about it lasting at least 3 months. Plus, as a first time buyer, you fill out a very very short survey and get 10% off your first order. I used my savings and went ahead and bought the Thermal spray.
All in all, I am very happy with Ovation and highly recommend that you give it a try. I am going to do a year long blog.
August 16, 2012 which is day 31 and it looks and feels incredible! It seems that it has just done the normal growth of 1/8". It actually can take up to 3 months for a noticeable difference in growth, so I will wait to see what happens.
Hi everyone! I have an update for you on how I am doing with the Ovation System. As of today, 9-10-12, day 55, I do not have significant hair growth or any different growth than usual. I am sincerely hoping that something starts happening soon. They say to give it 3 months to really notice a difference, so I will give it until October 16. I can say though, it does feel and look a lot better, but I am still waiting for more growth than my normal 1/8" per month. Here is a picture of today with it in a french braid.
I will keep updating as I go along. I am 6 days away from the 2 month mark. Thanks!
