Thanks to technology, I have never been more connected in my entire life. I think it's a good thing. Maybe. I find that I must tend to many "gardens", each of which takes time. Yet they bring rewards enough to continue my investments in them. For instance, it's priceless to see photos and news of my grown children whenever I want to - which is often.
My "gardens" include:
- 9 phone numbers,
- 4 voicemail systems,
- 5 email systems,
- 1 personal mobile phone,
- 1 Blackberry,
- 2 computers,
- 1 Wii,
- 1 broken Palm,
- 2 blogs,
- Facebook,
- MySpace, and
- Second Life.
(Fortunately, my children's GigaPets have gone to GigaPet heaven.)
Yes, at times I'm overwhelmed with so many social channels. But there are real people at the other end of each, enriching my life tremendously.
