There are men and women out there who desire curvy partners, skinny partners, heavy partners, short partners, tall partners, and partners of every skin color. This isn’t a crazy fetish -– this is basic attraction....more
"Hi," she said, warmly. "I'm Alys. It's so good to meet you." As soon as she walked up to me, I caught my breath. She was short -- at 5'8", I towered over her. She was more curvy than slender, and had very short dark hair. Her eyes danced, and her smile was huge, and I'm here to tell you, this woman was straight. up. sexy....more
I don't worry about my kids weight or their body shapes, because I don't want them to. I make sure they know that bodies come in all sizes and that theirs are perfect just the way they are. And then I make sure they have access to bikes, I save one dollar bills so they can go swimming all summer, I make sure they have free access to nutritious foods and I get out of the way....more
Earlier this month, I had the privilege of speaking at the World Domination Summit, the conference masterminded by the impressive Chris Guillebeau. For as long as I can remember people have commented on my skin. I’ve always received compliments about how pretty my skin is and my canned answer was “it’s make-up”. Looking back, it is funny that I didn’t recognize that I was indeed blessed and had great skin. All I could see were the random (minor) scars left from a old pimple or if it was that time of the month, the one pimple that made an appearance with my hormonal changes. Today however, I can’t think of one person that would say I have great skin.
My blogger friend Heather from Hangry Pants described toxic people in the most eloquent way: She called them Flower Cutters. Flower Cutters are people who are quick to slam you, to make you feel small and worthless with a cruel remark. A perfect example of a Flower Cutter statement, according to Heather, is, “You are soooo lucky you can eat all that chocolate cake and not get fat. I would be like a WHALE!” Snip, snip. Thanks for cutting my flower.
The pool opened last weekend. I thought I was ready to go with my new halter swimdress (shut up) and my sunscreen and my baseball hat. Sure, it had been a long, cold winter accompanied by many, many seasoned wedge fries, but last summer I even bared midriff a few times and felt fine about it.
