Parabens - "Environmental Estrogens"
It is no longer a secret that the skins of males and females are different and therefore require different treatments for conditions like acne. It is also no secret that Parabens, which are artificial preservatives used to prolong shelf life, pose an enormous potential threat to the health of women and men alike.
Parabens are commonly referred to as "Environmental Estrogens" because they are oestrogenic, which means that they increase estrogen levels in the body. Parabens have been found (completely intact) within breast cancer tumors. They were able to survive with in the tumors of a cancer that takes the lives of so many women around the world. No preservative that could do this belongs in the products that we use every day.
What products are those? They're nearly limitless. They include most shampoos, soaps, deodorants, lotions, cosmetics, and nearly all acne treatments. The most troubling of these is acne treatment. Today's youth are beginning to address their acne at an early age with vigorous daily acne regiments. Therefore, they are constantly applying parabens to their bodies, primarily the face.
