Pass on This: Michael Todd True Organics KNU Anti-aging Face Lift

After reading a good review of two Michael Todd True Organics products, I jumped at the chance via Living Social to buy Michael Todd True Organics KNU Anti-aging Face Lift for $27 delivered instead of the usual $150. However, deep discounts like that always make me wonder what the "real" price is. Nevertheless, I was psyched to receive it because it was organic, and a prestige brand at an affordable price.
It arrived quickly, nice looking packaging. Surprised it was in a jar instead of a pump to protect the effectiveness of its ingredients. The consistency was surprisingly soupy and it would've been much easier to apply via a pump.
I put it on as my moisturizer late Saturday morning, and it left my face with a strangely dry, rough rather than the smooth, moisturized texture I expected. And it had a "tightening" feeling tho' no visible lift. I put my go-to CC cream over it, as always, and went about my day.
After going to a party that night, I looked in the mirror before taking off my makeup and I was horrified to see that my CC cream had "broken" all over my face, especially under and around my eyes. I also had white streaks down my face. Geez, I hope I didn't look like that at the party! Some beauty blogger they would think I am!
So I discovered that this product isn't a moisturizer. I guess it's some sort of a serum, tho' it doesn't look like any serum I've used. I tried using it at night instead of my regular serum with either moisturizer or argan oil over it to hydrate my dry skin.
Frankly, if I had bought it at a store, I'd return it. But according to this deal, there are no returns. Fortunately, I'm out $27 instead of $150. I checked the reviews on Makeupalley and Amazon, and reactions are split between those who love it (most frequently 19-29 yr olds) and those who hate it (trend toward older women). So, do your research before purchasing this one! Further details on my blog.
