Paula Thornton-Greear is Vice President, Communications for Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief charity. Thornton-Greear leads new and traditional media strategies to increase public awareness of the critical issue of hunger in America. She implements creative strategies in media to spread Feeding America’s core messages and engage stakeholders in supporting charitable feeding programs. Thornton-Greear also manages advocacy communications efforts, growing and activating Feeding America’s community of supporters online and offline.
Prior to her current role, Thornton-Greear was Director, Issues Management and Corporate Social Responsibility at Motorola. Before Motorola, she served four years as Senior Manager, Media Relations for Target Corporation, preceded by working as Interim Director of Corporate Communications for Lands' End immediately following its acquisition by Sears Holding Corporation. Thornton-Greear managed several programs supporting accounts such as DaimlerChrysler, Ralston Purina, Bank of America and the Epilepsy Foundation. As a publicist for Discovery Communications, she managed publicity for programs and talent at Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and the Travel Channel.
Thornton-Greear lives in the Chicago suburbs with her two children. She holds a B.A. in Communication from Michigan State University.
