A Photographic Journey through March
I've always considered myself to be a terrible photo-taker. I won't even use the word "photographer" which is a whole 'nother ball park. But, I'm beginning to feel a little bit more confident thanks to the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) programs on the iPhone. Apps like Instagram and Camera+ are inspiring me to be a little more artsy behind the camera. I'm finding beauty in the small things and taking pictures of my children then adding filters and blurs, and changing the light and the colors to give the photos that special feel. A feel that I never could accomplish with my plain old point and shoot.
Forget fancy DSLR cameras which have always intimidated me. Not only are their price tags steep, but so is the learning curve. Not so much with my iPhone. Keep in mind, I'm doing this for fun and to document my children's young years, not to make a living creating works of art!
Inspired by one of my fellow Charter Chiquita Moms, Vanessa C., I'm embarking on a March Photo a Day mission. I'll be embracing the mission of getting creative with my camera (iPhone!) and finding beauty in the mundane. My works of "art" will be available for all to view on Instagram. I'd love to have company along the way! Curious? The details of the Photo A Day Challenge, can be found here.
If this piques your interest, join up with me and we can follow each other along the journey. Instagram users can connect with me at: cltmomfaves. I'll be sure to follow you back! Looking forward to seeing all of the beautiful images that we create throughout the month of March!
