Photography: Taking a 233.00 Risk
By Karen Sandoval CZT on January 14, 2014
I'm nervous. I ordered a HUGE canvas of one of my photos. An abstract of bee balm. I got a great discount because I used the code: RADIO, so it could have cost more. It is shipping free too. This should be my moment. The moment I've been waiting for. Recognition. Appreciation.
Ok, so it's coming from my husband, who requested gallery wrapped canvasses for each of our operatories in the dental office. And he might be a little prejudiced. Heck, it took me six months to order 15 smaller canvases, which aren't ALL that small, but smaller than 3x4 feet. Why am I nervous? I've never ordered such a big canvas before. And I don't use a tripod.
But both the bokeh and the detail are gorgeous. And I spend that much in a slot machine walking away with nothing to show for it most times I play. Heck, that's what I usually spend on my worst habit. (Michael Kors purses). And I'm getting a huge canvas. 36"x48" inches. Which translates to three by four feet. Whoah.
Want to see what I ordered?
That may or may not be really freaking cool. I'm hoping and praying that it doesn't arrive and achieve White Elephant status. I'm hoping for the best. I'm hoping that when I unwrap the canvas, it will take my breath away. In a good way.
I chose this photo for the color scheme, as I am hoping it is good enough to deserve a place of honor in our newly remodeled and soon to be redecorated dental office. I stalled and stalled ordering canvases for the office because well, I guess I just don't have enough confidence in myself.
Stay tuned for updates, photos will be taken once the order arrives.
What do you think? ~Karen Lynn
