PLAN AHEAD......CAN A WRONG DECISION BECOME A RIGHT DECISION....? When Things Don't Work out As Planned....

PLAN AHEAD….CAN A WRONG DECISION BECOME A RIGHT DECISION?...WHEN THINGS DON’T WORK OUT….

None of us can see everything that the future holds….That is a given…..We are not God and we truly cannot see everything that will happen both in the world and perhaps in our own lives…..But, we can be a good planner….A planner in the sense of being able to foresee some obstacles and to navigate around or entirely past them…..

I think when we simply plan ahead for what obstacles might lay in our path we can so often avoid them all together….by doing what is necessary to prevent them from happening…..Being more aware of our decisions in life…..If we make bad decisions or faulty decisions we are likely going to be headed towards situations that we do not want to be a part of….So often people knowingly make wrong decisions hoping that a wrong decision will become a right decision….

Can a wrong decision become a right decision? Likely not…..I guess it can happen, but the likelihood of a wrong decision becoming a right decision is usually not how things turn out….If we want right things to happen in our lives then we need to be clear on our choices and decisions….That the choice we are making is truly going to take us where we want to go…..Sometimes there are shortcuts in life, but often not….

I like the idea of shortcuts and I do look for them if they will get me to exactly where I want to go….What I find most often in life is that there are no shortcuts available and the long road is often the road that I have to take to get to where I want to go….It is through that long road that I see so much more then I would have seen had I taken the shortcut….Life's beauty is often found on the long road....

Often in life we wonder why something did not work out….when indeed it truly did work out….we just couldn’t see it at the time…Often  a disappointment was simply an appointment for something better……Often what we were pursuing was either faulty or wasn’t the best we could have….Often what we were pursuing simply was not part of a bigger plan….A Divine Plan for our lives….Often our plans get interrupted because something better is awaiting…..The doors that did not open are often a blessing in disguise….We just may not see it at first…

I have had so many of these types of disappointments….things that didn’t work out like I thought they should….only to later find out why…..That something far better was waiting for me down the road…..I would never have had many of the experiences that I have had had I achieved what I wanted up front…….

Years ago, I didn’t want to make a move. We got offered Europe to work in….I simply did not want to go…..I wanted to stay with what was familiar or something that was closer to what I felt comfortable with….But I didn’t get what I wanted….I got Europe instead….5 years of Europe……And I can say I am so grateful for those years….Had I got what I initially wanted I would never have had the wonderful opportunities that I had got to experience during my time there….

Had I married my first boyfriend…..I would never have met my husband and have the beautiful family I have……Had I got that first car that I saw for sale I would not have gotten the one I love so much now……..Had the jobs opened up to me that I was so seeking….it would have detoured me from my passions…..Often what we think we want may not be the Best that we can get……

Planning ahead can save us a lot of turmoil……but even the best laid plans can get interrupted….Whether they be things we really thought we wanted or whether they are in preparation to avoid what should not be in our lives….I always like to think that GOD intervenes when I am doing something that is not going to serve me well down the line….I always like to think that God will show me what I need to avoid…..in order to get to where I truly want to go in life……
