The BlogHer Events Team has cooked up a special treat (<- see what I did there?) to make your BlogHer Food '12 experience even more fun: The Scavenger Hunt!
Within the BlogHer Food '12 Mobile App, you'll find an icon for the game on the homescreen. It's full of fun challenges, designed to help you meet other attendees, capture great photos, and document your conference experience. Plus you have the opportunity to earn badges along the way and win some great prizes! And I mean, really GREAT prizes. Here's how you play:
Open the Scavenger Hunt and click "Get Started." You can sign up using your Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn accounts. It will only take a moment or two to get your confirmation email. Click it, and you're good to go! You'll find the different challenges listed under your profile. Simply click each one to fire your camera (ignore the instructions for email, that's there to benefit anyone accessing the game from the web), take the photo and you'll earn points toward that badge. Once you've opened the camere, you'll have the ability to select a photo from your library as well (very handy for that self portrait challenge!). You can also check out your competition on the Leaderboard, and see where you rank.
We've got a special badge for our Saturday Excursion, brought to you by Shutterfly. This badge will help guide you through Pike Place Market and offers helpful photo tips. Plus, they'll have Heather Maddan, Shutterfly's Chief Storyteller, on-hand to lead you through the market and offer you additional tips and tricks to help you make the most out of your photos. To join Heather, simply meet at the Shutterfly table at the start of lunch and you'll walk over to Pike Place together. Learn more about Heather here. And Shutterfly has some great prizes and giveaways in store for you along the way. They'll have a Shutterfly representative stationed at one of the stops on the hunt, and the first 200 to find her will get a Shutterfly tote bag. To complete this badge, you'll head back to the Shutterfly table at the Fairmont, where the helpful Shutterfly staff will help you upload your photos so you can put them to use! And the first 3 people to complete this badge will win a Shutterfly gift card worth up to $100!
So once you've earned your Shutterfly badge, you'll want to make sure to get all the others too. Everyone who completes every badge will be entered to win a special prize that we'll raffle off at our Closing Party.
Hope to see you clicking away in Seattle!
