Monday, January 20, 2014 Do you still feel pressure of conform? If no, what age did it stop?
At the age of 54, I do not feel the need to conform as much as I used to. There is still a little pressure to conform, but nowhere near as much as there was in my teens, twenties, thirties, and forties. When I resigned from my job, about three years ago, I pretty much resigned from life. I don’t have much of a social life anymore, and I definitely don’t have to please people (employer’s and employee’s), or present myself as something I’m not. I have one friend that visits with me, fairly often. The rest of my social life consists of family. I do have to conform for my oldest daughter. She took the ‘Blue Pill’ and is full of conformity. I choose to play along with her game, so that I can see my granddaughters. They are not allowed to visit me. I have to go to my oldest daughter’s home to visit them under supervision. So, I say, I still conform to some extent, but visiting with my granddaughters is worth it.
