Simple living through this global economic crisis is becoming popular again. It helps with living a simple frugal life that is also based on sustainability. Two main principles that are becoming the object in today's society. Frugality helps with the economy, and sustainability is something people are incorporating into daily living to help to sustain our planet. Something we all should be participating in.
The core principles and teachings of Simple Living are as follows.
1) Simplicity. Simplicity is the simple living core belief. This means cutting back on expenses, possessions, and anything that is too expensive. Objects that are not really needed and becoming more about necessity over greed. Other then the odd treat of books, games for the children and these sorts of purchases which can still be done with a simple living mind by recycling and going second hand. Keeping your home organized is also a part of simple living. Most of us enjoy our organizational boxes, baskets, and shelves to keep it simple, organized and easy to find.
2) Sustainability. Living a life based on sustainability is also a simple living belief. We recycle, compost, garden to have our locally grown vegetables, and reuse items until they fall apart.
3) Spirituality. Spirituality becomes a part of the simple living lifestyle. Prayer, scriptures, church, and other forms of worshiping God usually is included in this rich and satisfying culture and lifestyle. Most people who live the simple living lifestyle, will spend many hours a week in prayer and meditation to God.
4) Sport. Keeping active with some sort of exercise such as walking, hiking, or some other form of exercise is included in the simple living lifestyle. I personally am fond of yoga, over other forms of sport. I also walk everyday too.
Taking a simple living course was one of the best decisions I had made in my life. It helped with my marriage, kept my home clean and helped me to become frugal through these hard economic times.
Practicing simple living has become a daily part of my life which I now teach to others. Joining other people who enjoy this lifestyle has been rich, fulfilling, and one of the best educational experiences of my life. A journey I wish to share and teach with all my readers.
I have made charts and print outs, available in PDF format for you to print from your computer for personal use only, no business use to make a profit. In upcoming articles I will discuss the sheets, the links to where to find them, and how to use the print outs in an effective way to make a change in your life. Journaling is a huge part of simple living. Charts, guides, and writing thoughts of your change into this lifestyle are part of the simple living movement.
Hope you will join me on my simple living crusade.
