I am so beyond excited to be going to the BlogHer React Out Tour in Boston, but what makes this experience extra special is that GM is giving us (me and 3 of my mommy blogging friends from Chester County Moms) a Saturn Outlook to drive. Can you believe it!
And while I am so excited to be given this fabulous opportunity by GM, I can’t help but cringe at the thought of actually having to drive. I have been a professional rider now for 11 years, which happens to be the exact length of time we have been together…hmm??? Maybe he doesn’t trust my driving skills…but I kind of like it. No, I take that back, I love it! I am a great passenger. I can open drinks for you, I can program the GPS system and if you don’t trust the GPS, well I can read a map. I can stay awake with you and keep you company while you drive or if I start to get on your nerves (which would take a very long time since I am such a joy to be around); I can easily sleep the rest of the ride. I can make up super fun games to make the time pass, I can sing for you or I can just shut up…which isn’t very nice, Mr. You-Know-Who-You-Are.
I really do make a great passenger for any road trip but I make a lousy driver. I complain about traffic and whine about slow people. I am just not that pleasant to be around, so I hear by declare myself…Passenger for life. Did you hear that my fellow Chester County Mom’s? I hope so because I would hate to have you find this out so late in the game. I mean we are hitting the road in under 48 hours and by hitting the road, I mean that you three will be fighting over who will be the first to drive and I will sitting in the back…do you really think I would take up the coveted shotgun seat for the whole trip if I didn’t drive.
So I promise to be the best passenger I can be. In fact, I am going to download some awesome tunes onto my iPod right now and Sarah, don’t worry, I won’t put on too many country songs! See ya in Boston. I will be the one pulling up in the back seat of a kickin’ Saturn Outlook…Thanks again GM. Off to pack, clean and ready the little ones for my impending departure.
