New 'Project Runway All Stars' Season Punk Rocks!

Featured Member Post

Entertainment Editor's Note: Like Velvet, I'm excited about the new season of Lifetime's Project Runway All Stars. Alyssa Milano is hosting, and in the first episode one of my forever idols, Debbie Harry, served as guest judge.  It was really cool to see Ari South, too. Check out an interview with The Backlot where she discusses her decision to come back to Project Runway All Stars in Season 3 after completing a gender transition.  -- Deb Rox

They're back!!!! Project Runway All Stars

There are so many different contestants on the show, including contestants originally from Season 10 to Season 3. There are so many different personalities in this group. And some big surprises.

Some of the former winners are back to claim the double title. The winners of Season 3, Season 6 and Season 7. Now, while I understand people wanting to test themselves and see if they can do these challenges over again, after being a few years removed, it's admirable. But, they've already got major business. Irina , winner of Season 6, has dressed Carrie Underwood and Lady GaGa. She has a bridal and ready-to-wear line. Season 7 winner, Seth Aaron has had a successful business, but he is now rebranding and he needs the cash for that. So, he wants both the double title and the cash.

Christopher from Season 10 is back and so is Victor from Season 9. Korto from Season 5 is back and so is Michael from Season 3.  There are so many talented designers on this year's all stars. Their first challenge was to create a punk look inspired by a pioneering punk rocker, Debbie Harry. The designers had to listen to  her songs, which were on a playlist, and sketch while allowing the song to motivate them.  Then they had to go to Mood, purchse their fabrics and materials. Doesn't sound so strange, right? Well, try buying your fabric and creating your look, while working in the Mood basement. Yeah, that's a challenge.  The idea was to strip away the comforts that the designers are used to, in order to really get that punk feel.

I have a feeling that it's going to be a fascinating season with a lot of twists and turns and incredibly unpredictable. And speaking of unpredictable, Remember Andy South of Season 8?  Well, let's just say that she looks really different. Three letters: A-R-I! Just watch and you'll see what I mean.

I just love this show and everything about it!

I hope that they'll also bring back Project Accessory!
