Published Monsters

This was supposed to be a gardening post. It is now a monster post.

The guy above is now available in the shop, and I'm working on a few friends to join him. He was supposed to be in the mail for Art Doll Quarterly, but I decided to keep him here with me. I'm really pleased with him. He's crocheted out of wool yarn and crochet cotton. I did stuff him with plastic bags and wool fiberfill. I'm going through what's left of the bags and then switching entirely over to wool. Wool is a renewable fiber, and I'd rather support the farm I buy it from instead of the use of plastic bags.

I will be switching entirely over to wool and cotton eventually. I still have a lot of acrylic yarn and fun fur to go through. The fibers will be better as monsters, rather than sitting in a landfill or collecting dust somewhere.

I'm hoping all of this fiber switching and monster making will lead to more magazine submissions and gallery opportunities.

Speaking of... I have just found out that my Knot By Gran'ma mini monsters were accepted to be published in STUFFED Magazine. It's all very exciting.
