I've been collecting pumpkin links that don't quite fit into any specific pumpkin topic and trying to figure out what, exactly, to do with those. Today, I got a brand new crazy and brilliant pumpkin link and my first thought was "this is madness!" ... and it is, really.

Next year, when you plant that garden, maybe you should consider not only growing pumpkins but molding your pumpkins.

You can take a trip to Circleville, Ohio and see the pumpkin water tower or wander around the backroads of Illinois in search of a giant concrete pumpkin.

I've seen pumpkin catapulting on Little People, Big World but I've never had the pleasure of experiencing it myself.

Debbie, from Discovery.com was kind enough to inform me about the Science Channel's taping of Punkin Chunkin, this weekend.

Pumpkins. Good for carving, making pies, baking seeds, and a flurry of other fall favorites. But a catapulting pumpkin competition? Now that’s an unusual job for this orange gourd-like squash! For 22 memorable years, the Delaware-based “World Championship Punkin Chunkin” has hit the skies. This year, Science Channel is honoring the backyard engineers who turn pumpkins into projectiles with an inside look at the high flying, far-flung action of the 2008 championship. PUNKIN CHUNKIN premieres Thursday, November 27 at 9 PM (ET/PT) on Science Channel and Science Channel HD as the culmination of the network’s first Demolition Day Marathon.
