When the mountains are gone will we remove that part of America the Beautiful? How many Americans even know our mountains are disappearing? How many know when they turn on a light they maybe helping the mountains disappearing. My electric company is buying coal from companies that are blowing up our mountains, maybe your is as well.

470 mountains are gone because of our need for huge amounts of power and lack of willingness to find cleaner better energy. How many of you knew that before today? Have you ever seen it on CNN or Fox News?

Removing the mountain tops doesn't just hurt our beautiful mountains but causes flooding, pollution of drinking water, pollution of our air and so much more.

"A sludge dam breach in Martin County, KY, in 2000, sent more than 300 million gallons of toxic coal sludge into tributaries of the Big Sandy, causing what the EPA called, “The biggest environmental disaster ever east of the Mississippi.”

I don't know about you but I never hear that on the news. Why do we keep covering all of this up? What else is being kept from us about this terrible act? To learn more about mountain top coal removal and how you can help stop it please go to http://ilovemountains.org/

We sing about our love for our mountains, now we most stand up to save them!

Thanks to Green Bean Dreams for showing me this website and letting me know what was happening!

We are so focused on gas and oil that we completely miss this flip side of the coal conversation. Thank you for giving us another reason to vote for and support the development of alternative fuel.
