Fried Quail Eggs in ThailandI find it quite interesting how blogs can point me to food trends I might have completely missed. In many parts of the world, quail eggs are considered a delicacy, and apparently quail eggs are quite nutritious. Now these little eggs are popping up on lots of my favorite food blogs.

Fried Quail Eggs are sold as a snack by street food vendors in Thailand, and the photo above was featured on Easy to Thai Food. The fried eggs are served with a bit of soy sauce and black pepper. Apparently even in the U.S. Asian markets are often a good source of quail eggs.

Gattina from Kitchen Unplugged makes Yeast-Risen Pancakes with Quail Eggs and Asparagus. She's from Hong Kong but now living in Europe, and in the post she mentions quail eggs being sold as street food in her home country.

Cook (almost) Anything At Least Once is written by talented Haalo in Melbourne, and her version of Quail Scotch Eggs sounds delightful. This post also has a great photo showing how quail eggs compare in size to chicken eggs.

In Phoenix, Kirsten from Kirsten's Home Cooking makes Quail Egg Deviled Eggs, bite-sized morsels of deliciousness!

When she sees some brightly-colored Salted Quail Eggs in the supermarket, Hundred Pound Foodie from the Phillipines can't resist snapping a photo!

Also in the Phillipines, D' Cooking Mudra makes Ground Pork, Green Peas, and Quail Eggs in Tomato Sauce.

In Tuscany, Ilva from Lucullian Delights creates a beautiful dish of Quail Eggs in Toast and Asparagus Cream Scented with White Truffle Oil.

Finally, at Now We are Six in China, an American family tries quail eggs for the first time and reports that Eggs is Eggs.

Blogher Food Editor Kalyn Denny also blogs at Kalyn's Kitchen. She's never tried quail eggs, but does use a lot of eggs for dishes like Breakfast Casserole.
