While trying to walk out of a discount store a few minutes ago, a crowd had formed at the door and several employees and the security/off-duty police were arresting a shoplifter.  If confronted with this and you had your children with you would you rush out of the store the other direction to avoid them seeing something like that? Or would you let your children watch and discuss things after?

I was not put in this situation today, however I watched several mom's struggle with what to do and several young children bug-eyed with curiosity. I don't know if this was someone who could not afford to buy what they stole, or due to the economy was unable to provide for their family or if it was someone who lives by shoplifting.  

I am saddened and a little less hope flies out of my soul when I see someone that chooses to break the law instead of abide by it.
