Life is pretty quiet here right now. Whether it's recovering from all the birthday hoopla. Watching the tragedy unfold on TV at the school in Connecticut. Jacob sick at home with strep. Stormy days. Getting teacher's goody bags together, wrapping gifts. Knowing Jake's leaving in a couple days and won't be here for Christmas.
It's just quiet. Here at home and in my heart.
But, I still believe - just like our family's Christmas card read - God is sovereign and He is good. In joyous times. In tragedy. In loneliness. And loss.
Even in the worst of times, He still is good. I'm resting in that promise and stillness today.
Be still, and know that I am God.
